WEATHER.

Winter

JANUARY

It is the coldest month. Maximum temperatures hover around 15°C, whilst minimum temperatures can drop to 5°C at night. Sunny days are perfect for strolling around Palma without the crowds, but the evenings are damp and chilly.

FEBRUARY

Very similar to January in terms of temperatures (15°C), but it has a special charm: it's the month when the almond trees are in bloom. The inland areas and the Sierra de Tramuntana are blanketed in white and pink, making it the perfect time for hiking.

MARCH

The weather is starting to warm up slightly (with highs of around 17°C). It's a transitional month, ideal for cycling enthusiasts and day trippers. The wind can still be chilly, so swimming is out of the question.

Spring

APRIL

The days are getting longer and maximum temperatures are reaching 19°C. Nature is at its greenest. On the warmest days towards the end of the month, you can spot the first brave souls taking a quick dip, even though the sea is still cold.

MAY

The summer pre-season kicks off. The beaches are quiet, and the days are beautifully sunny. The sea temperature begins to rise ( 17°C – 23°C), allowing the bravest visitors to take their first dip.

Summer

JUNE

Summer is off to a flying start. Highs are consistently above 27°C, there's hardly any rain, and the days offer up to 13 hours of sunshine. It's the perfect time to enjoy the sea before the tourist rush in August.

JULY

Hot and dry. Maximum temperatures easily reach 30°C (and often exceed this in the island's interior). The sea is lovely and the island is in the middle of the high season. Air conditioning is essential.

AUGUST

The warmest and busiest month of the year. Average maximum temperatures are 30–32°C, with an intense feeling of humidity. The sea water reaches its highest temperature (around 26°C), ideal for spending hours in the water.

Autumn

SEPTEMBER

A splendid month. Air temperatures drop to more pleasant levels (27°C), but the sea retains all the warmth of summer. There is a chance of the occasional stormy shower (the typical 'cold drop'), but it remains a fantastic time for the beach.

NOVEMBER

Autumn is well and truly here. Maximum temperatures have dropped to 19°C and many hotels and restaurants along the coast are beginning to close for the season. The island is returning to its peaceful, quiet routine.

The end of the Year

DECEMBER

The weather is now fully wintry (with highs of 16°C). There are around six hours of sunshine a day. It's the perfect month for a peaceful getaway focused on fine dining, Christmas shopping in Palma and relaxation.
